The Merida Speeder 40-D is an entry-level flat-bar road bike that is built for commuting or riding recreationally with friends. The Speeder 40-D’s frame is made from Racelite 61 Aluminium (6061) and is lighter and more advanced than previous years. Merida use an additional heat treatment and double-butted wall thickness to produce light and stiff frames. The frame geometry allows you to have a relaxed and upright riding position, that is comfortable and gives you more control with less effort. The flat-bar riding position is very comfortable, providing you with better visibility and control compared to the traditional drop-bar road bikes, particularly when riding a bit slower. The Speeder 40-D is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes to give you reliable stopping power in any conditions, and a 27 speed Shimano drivetrain that will give you a very smooth ride.
